Fewer refusals

Practical fixes that cut refusals before an order is placed: addresses, confirmation, and payment choices.

5 guides · All guides

  1. Ways to cut COD refusals before the order is placedCut COD refusals by fixing what happens before dispatch: show the full total early, promise a delivery time you can keep, collect an address the courier can find and a working phone number, confirm COD orders, send tracking updates, and limit COD on the riskiest carts.
  2. Better UAE addresses: landmarks, Makani numbers and delivery notesShopify's UAE checkout has no postcode, so couriers rely on what the shopper types. Ask for the building or villa number, flat number, street, area and a landmark. In Dubai and four other emirates, a 10-digit Makani number points to the building entrance. Confirm with a map pin.
  3. Saudi National Address and fewer failed deliveriesThe National Address is Saudi Post's official address format: building number, street, district, city, postal code and secondary number, plus a short address of 4 letters and 4 numbers. Saudi media report that since January 2026 couriers may not carry parcels without one. Collect it before you ship.
  4. Nudging shoppers from cash to card without losing the saleMake paying online the easy, obvious choice instead of taking cash on delivery away from everyone. List cards and wallets first, name each method clearly, show why paying online is safe, offer instalments if they suit your products, and hide COD only on the carts where refusals cost most.
  5. Order confirmation message templates in English and ArabicA COD order needs short messages at four points: a request to confirm before you ship, a dispatch notice, an out-for-delivery reminder and a follow-up after a failed attempt. Each template below has English and Arabic versions. Keep WhatsApp templates free of promotions.
